BRICSThe leaders of the five BRICS countries signed a declaration supporting a multilateral trading system open to all, as provided in the rules of the World Trade Organization. At their summit in Johannesburg, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) vowed to fight a unilateral approach to international trade and protectionism against the US President Donald Trump’s customs policy.

“We recognize that the multilateral trading system is facing unprecedented challenges, and we underline the importance of an open global economy”, says the declaration signed by the leaders of the five countries.

They have expressed intention to jointly oppose traditional and non-traditional security threats, to maintain a “fair, fair and equitable international order based on the principles enshrined in the UN Charter” and to contribute to the creation of “a fair tax system in the context of a digital economy”.

The five-nation group is unanimous that the world organization has a central role in international affairs, including in the fight against terrorism.

The declaration signed in Johannesburg is committed to actively fighting corruption and denying asylum to the persons accused of this crime.
